        How to pack for a gay cruise

        In many ways, packing for an LGBT+ cruise is not that much different from packing for any other cruise. However, if you’re looking to book a chartered gay cruise with VACAYA, there are a couple special twists from a traditional packing checklist you should keep in mind:

        • Pack your smile! The most important thing to pack is your willingness to say “hello.” People will be eager to get to know you, but you have to put yourself out there and meet them halfway. “Hi, how’s your trip going so far?” openers lead quickly to genuine conversations that can create lasting bonds, much more so than you may have experienced on regular cruises.
        • Visit the Get Ready Page for your trip on the VACAYA website. Here, we’ll give you all the information you need – from party themes and an entertainment preview to safety protocols and tips for sailing effortlessly – well before your vacation begins.
        • Join social media groups: Don’t forget to join the Official VACAYA-hosted Facebook Group for your trip. Other more experienced guests love to answer newbies’ questions and help everyone stay informed.
        • Travel light: There’s no need to bring fancy clothes since VACAYA cruises don’t have formal nights or a dress code. Save the space in your suitcase for costumes for the theme parties.
        • Stock up on swimsuits: A good rule of thumb is one per day because many times, they’ll double as a costume at some point in the week.
        • Consider costumes: While costumes are never required, many people do anticipate the party themes and then create costumes to fit the themes. With Amazon, costumes don’t need to cost an arm and a leg. They’re meant to be fun and easy. So keep ‘em simple and you’ll fit right in.
